Personality Psychology
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the key personality theorists by combining biographical information on each theorist with his or her contributions to the field. The unique style of this enables you to easily grasp an understanding of the key people and movements in the field of personality.
Developmental Psychology
The Course offers an eclectic, interdisciplinary approach to the study of adolescence, presenting both psychological and sociological viewpoints as well as educational, demographic, and economic data. The course takes into consideration current and important topics such as ethnic identity formation, gender issues, the Internet, and the effects of single-parent families.
Biological and Cognitive Psychology
This course incorporates neuroscience seamlessly into the study of cognitive psychology. This course takes a fresh look at the field, and presents it as it actually is today. By integrating findings about the brain into the usual fare for this topic, it provides the foundation for you to study current research in the field.
Neuropsychology
This course will provide an overview of the neural systems supporting our perception of spatial world, and the movements of our bodies within it. This course will draw special emphasis to the study of visual perception, memory and language processing, attention or action, human brain damages and recovery.
Psychology
Course introduces the field of psychology and its basic concepts, theories, research methods, and contributions to the understanding of human behavior. Topics include the nervous system, perception, motivation, learning and memory, social behavior, personality, developmental, and clinical psychology. The past and current theories and contributions of major psychologists are explored.
Counseling Psychology
This course presents the counseling student and beginning counselor with counseling skills, interventions and strategies for conceptualizing theoretically, planning therapy for change, and developing a means for self-assessment. Course provides a conceptual structure for viewing counseling process and then examines each part of that structure in-depth, addressing necessary counseling skills.
Multicultural Counseling and Psychology
This course addresses fundamental social and cultural foundations upon which counselors and other helpers develop the knowledge and skill to work effectively with diverse populations. It distinctively features a social psychology perspective of diversity, complemented by an understanding of self-concept theory and its interaction with other models of identity development.
Behavior Modification
This course presents a comprehensive, practical presentation of both the principles of behavior modification and guidelines for their application. Assuming no prior knowledge of behavior modification or psychology, this course facilitates understanding of the principles of behavior modification and helps you to successfully implement behavior modification programs.
Career Counseling
The course carefully describes the process of finding and securing jobs in an electronic era and presents you with the trends that are shaping the workplace today–and those that will continue to influence your career over the next decade. This course has a decided emphasis on multicultural career counseling.
School Counseling Development
This course will prepare you to develop and implement a comprehensive, developmental school counseling and guidance program incorporating state and national standards. Combining a scholarly synthesis of relevant research with easy-to-read descriptions of best practice, this course contains information on all aspects of the school counseling profession.
